At Appletree Family Practice, we are able to assist you in protecting your children from preventable childhood diseases through our comprehensive immunisation service. Our registered and qualified nursing staff are able to offer advice in addition to administering the immunisations.
Each year there are whooping cough, measles, rubella, mumps and other outbreaks, therefore it is very important that we prevent these outbreaks by protecting our children through immunisation. Don’t forget that government funded immunisations are age specific, i.e. at 6 weeks of age, 4 months, 12 months, 18 months and then finally at 4 years of age. However, immunisations are not just for children. Teenagers, middle-aged adults or senior citizens, regardless of age, we all need immunisations to keep healthy. Vaccines for older adults can prevent serious diseases. They can also prevent the spread of diseases through your family or community. In addition, it is important to consider your immunisation needs when travelling overseas. We encourage you to book an appointment with one of our nurses at a time your usual family doctor is available.
